In the trailer, Mando and Grog meet the characters of Weaver and White, fighting against various evil robots and sci-fi beasts. The logline is as follows: “The evil empire has fallen, and the Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. “I loved telling stories set in the rich world created by George Lucas,” Favreau said when the film was first revealed. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grog onto the big screen is extremely exciting.”
The Mandalorian series takes place after the collapse of the Galactic Empire in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
