Big isn’t always good.
In his new book, Matthew McConaughey revealed that reducing his bed helped him get closer to his 13-year wife, Camilla Alves, and he doubled in subsequent interviews.
“The best thing you can/for a marriage” he entitled one entry in his new book, “Poems & Prayers.”
“One way to go ahead, certainly / remove the king-sized mattress and / sleep in a queen-sized bed.”
“We have kids and we go to a friend’s house. He puts together one of these double king-sized beds and all the kids are sleeping in bed,” the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor 55 told Fox News Digital for an interview that was released on Saturday.
“My wife is on one side at her side table and her husband is on the other side. It’s great to have got all three kids, but all of a sudden they’re getting too big. They’re out of bed.”
McConaughey recalls waking up to see Alves, 42, on the other side of a very large bed.
“I wake up one morning… I look over there and Camila looks like a man’s soccer field,” he said. “Then you go to sleep at night.
The “interstellar” actor recognized the big bed as “a man who isn’t good for marriage.”
“Get off the bitch’s son,” he cried. “So we got a queen size shoulder-to-shoulder. I’m telling you, that’s good for your marriage.” He added that an improved sleep arrangement leaves the kids with “no room.”
The couple, who celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary in June, got married in 2012 and share three children. a 17-year-old son, Levi, and a 12-year-old daughter, Vida (15).
In a 2024 joint interview, they shared another secret of their long marriage – how they rule out their arguments.
The “How to Lose a Man in 10 Days” star said in an episode of the “Your Mom’s Kitchen” podcast, “Get something sweet.”
“Sweet food. It can escalate some things. Even if it’s a nice chocolate or ice cream, it can escalate,” he explained.
