Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are happy to be engaged and are approaching their wedding day.
But they were not in a hurry to get there. On April 10, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Gomez was “never happy,” but she and Blanco were spending time planning their dream wedding.
A source said, “Serena and Benny love all the feedback on their new album (I said I love you first). They’re focusing on that success. They’re not yet in a thick part of their wedding plans. Serena is in no hurry.”
The source’s comments matched what Gomez and Blanco had personally revealed about the wedding. This is everything the couple has shared so far about their upcoming wedding. (They announced their engagement in December 2024.)
In January 2025, they had not decided whether to have a destination wedding.
The interview magazine asked the couple what their thoughts were about holding a destination wedding. Gomez said, “To be honest, we haven’t even gotten that much. I want to be very happy right now at this moment. But I don’t know. That can be difficult for a family.”
In March 2025, Blanco revealed that Gomez’s ideas for weddings are changing every day.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Blanco revealed that the couple has no decisions about what the actual wedding day will look like. But he pointed out that Gomez has a positive imagination. “I think she plans a new wedding on her head every day. We’re the ‘take at once at a time’ type of people’ moment. We are not at this moment yet. Literally, she stared at her ring while you spoke. ”
Gomez added: “I think this is a really special time. You can apply it to this album, really put your heart into it, translate what we feel and bring it to the world. At least it’s my main focus right now.”
They dance hora at their wedding.
In early January 2025, Jewish Blanco confirmed in the couple’s interview profile that “Of course we dance Hora during the wedding.” Gomez has not converted to Judaism. “I don’t think I would,” she said as she asked. “That’s not bad.”
Blanco added, “No. I hope kids do that when we mix both our moral values and hopefully in pots.”
“Thank you very much,” Gomez finished.

Blanco and Gomez were not in a hurry to tie the knot for good reason. They are pleased where they are. “I feel like I got engaged yesterday, but I feel like I got engaged 20 years ago,” Blanco told Rolling Stone. “I’ve known her since she was 18 so we’ve made everything out of the way. Gomez explained that filming only murders in the building could delay wedding planning.
When Blanco and Gomez deliberately appeared with Jay Shetty in March 2025, they were asked about the status of their wedding planning. “We haven’t started,” Gomez said. “I think there’s a lot going on for now, so I’ve got to film the series (only murders in buildings) for a while.

The couple discussed how they could use both their strengths to plan their big day.
Gomez and Blanco talked about how they would work together to plan their fiancées. “He’s very good at organizing and planning,” she said intentionally with Jay Shetty. “And I’m very visual. So I know, ‘This is what I like, this and this’ and this’ and how he (makes it happen).’ ”
Blanco added, “She already told me the kind of thing she likes and wants for the wedding.”
Gomez said he would not be dancing as a couple for the first time at the wedding.
Gomez and Blanco are skipping their first dance as husband and wife. The singer revealed her plans with Jesse and the Renny Wear podcast in an episode of Table Manners on April 30th. “I don’t think we’re seeing that we have one of them,” Gomez began. “They’re a little bit.”
“She’s shy,” Blanco said.
“I feel embarrassed,” she revealed. “I do a special dance with my dad, who is my grandfather and he is my mom’s father. And he is good for my mom, so he can’t get the chance to walk my mom down the aisle.
Ed Sheeran suggested that a wedding invitation occurred in May 2025.
Sheeran conducted a lie detector test for Vanity Fair and confirmed that he was invited to Gomez and Blanco’s wedding. He did not reveal any details about the date or other guests.
In July 2025, Blanco revealed that he and Gomez had not yet begun planning their wedding.
When he appeared in Jake Shane’s Therapse, Blanco said their busy schedules got in the way of planning their wedding. “So we need to cool both,” he said. “We both have worked very well. We were engaged and then we were filming music videos for the album (I said I love you first)… Then it was a holiday and right after the holidays, we had to start all the promotions for ours. Then she had to film her shows only. Writing the book, she came back here. Then it was my birthday.
In September 2025, Gomez spoke about using Pinterest for her wedding planning.
By the end of summer 2025, Gomez and Blanco had made progress. On September 9th, Allure published a cover story with Gomez. Gomez revealed that he is using his Pinterest board to help him plan his big day. “I have a folder of inspiration for weddings, cooking and style,” she said.
Gomez joked about who would become her ring bearer.
On the same day her cover story was published, Gomez appeared on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, promoting only the murder of the building. When the host asked about her wedding plans, she made her response simple and cheerful. “That’s great. I’m very fortunate,” she said. “We’re on track. We’re very excited,” she also confirmed that her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short were invited. And perhaps jokingly, he said the latter would become a ring bearer.
The wedding is reportedly going to be held in Southern California at the end of September.
On September 5th, TMZ reported that the ceremony is expected to take place in California’s secret Montecito or Santa Barbara by the end of the month. According to the outlet, the couple had planned to close guests to the venue.
