It has been announced that Yoo Ji-young will appear in a recurring role in season 2 of “Presumed Innocent”.
She joins previously announced actors Rachel Brosnahan, Matthew Rhys, Courtney B. Vance, Fiona Shaw, Jack Reynor, John Magaro, Michael Sue Rosen, and Lesley-Anne Brandt.
Jiyoung recently voiced the role of Zoe in Netflix’s hit movie KPop Demon Hunters. Her previous credits include the films “Moxie,” “Smoking Tigers,” “Freaky Tales” and “Until Dawn,” as well as the Amazon Prime Video series “Expats.” She is repped by Gersh Agency, Entertainment 360, Viewpoint, and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein.
“Presumed Innocent” premiered on Apple TV in 2024 and starred Jake Gyllenhaal, based on Scott Turow’s novel of the same name. Season 2 is based on Joe Murray’s new novel Dissection of a Murder, which is scheduled to be published in May. Apple has yet to release a logline for Season 2, but publisher Macmillan’s official description for the book reads: “When Leila Reynolds is sentenced for her first murder, she realizes how high-profile it is: the murder of a well-respected and famous judge. Shockingly, this is not the kind of case she would handle. But the defendant, Jack Millman, is clear: he wants her, and only her. Brosnahan plays Leila Reynolds.
David E. Kelley developed Presumed Innocent for television and serves as co-showrunner with Erica Lipes. Season 2 is executive produced by Kelley and Matthew Tinker through David E. Kelley Productions. Lipes; Brosnahan and Dustin Thomas. Gyllenhaal, from Nine Stories. J. J. Abrams and Rachel Rush Rich via Bad Robot Productions. Turow will serve as co-executive producer.
