You need to calm down.
Taylor Swift was not nominated for the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards because her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” was not eligible.
The annual awards ceremony announced its nominees on Friday, but the 14-time Grammy winner was noticeably missing from the star-studded list.
The application eligibility period for the 68th Grammy Awards is from August 31, 2024 to August 30, 2025.
Swift released her 12th studio album on October 3rd, and her new song debuted well after eligibility closed.
She also did not release any new singles, music videos, or other records within the qualifying period. (Her previous album, The Tortured Poets Division, was released in April 2024.)
Swifties are in turmoil after their nominations for the music industry’s big night, to be held on February 1, 2026, were reduced.
“Taylor Swift isn’t nominated for a Grammy????” one angry fan wrote via X.
“Is Taylor Swift’s new album (title TBA) a Grammy this year or next year? Because I can’t see any nominations and I’m jumping up and down with excitement,” Anti tweeted.
A third social media user added: “Taylor Swift received 0 nominations for the 2026 #Grammy Awards. Oh Taylor 😭.”
Swift’s latest album was not nominated, but pop stars such as Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Chapel Lawn were nominated.
Last year, Swift was nominated for six awards for her album TTPD, but left the ceremony without taking home another trophy.
But a year earlier, she won two awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for her album Midnights, released on October 21, 2022 (eligibility for the 2024 Grammy Awards was from October 1, 2022 to September 15, 2023).
The 35-year-old holds several Grammy records, including being the first artist in history to win Album of the Year four times. She earned this honor for 2010’s “Fearless,” 2016’s “1989,” 2021’s “Folklore,” and, as mentioned above, 2024’s “Midnight.”
Swift, who first won four Golden Phonograph Awards in 2010, holds the record for the most nominations in the Song of the Year category with eight nominations, and is the current female artist with the most nominations in the Album of the Year category, with seven nominations as of 2025.
It’s unclear whether Swift will attend this year’s awards without a nomination, but it’s very likely she will attend as a presenter or performer.
