Prince Harry is unlikely to meet his father, King Charles III, during his upcoming visit to the UK, Page Six has confirmed.
Sources said the Duke of Sussex was scheduled to visit later this month in connection with the lawsuit against Associated Newspapers (ANL), but no “official date for the trial” had yet been set.
Additionally, the timing of his stay will be “very tight”, making it “very difficult” to make plans outside of the trial.
Another source said Charles was likely to be in Scotland when his son came to town, also reported by the Telegraph. Meanwhile, a third source told PEOPLE that the monarch is trying to avoid aggressive litigation.
Representatives for Harry, 41, and Charles, 77, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Prince Harry has been embroiled in a legal battle with ANL, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, for the past four years after suing the company for allegedly collecting information illegally. ANL denies the allegations.
Prince Harry and Prince Charles’ relationship has been strained since the former retired from royal duties and moved to the United States in 2020. However, in September 2025, Prince Harry met with the King for the first time since February 2024.
Page Six reported at the time that father and son had a “private tea” for just under an hour at Prince Charles’ London home, during which Prince Harry reportedly showed his father photos and videos of his children with wife Meghan Markle – Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
Prince Harry told reporters shortly after the meeting that the king was in “great condition” as he was recovering from a battle with cancer.
He later told the Guardian that he would like to spend more time in his native England and take his children there, admitting that he was “definitely closer to that this week”.
Although their reunion is not scheduled to take place this month, it is certainly possible that it will happen soon.
Earlier this week, the Royal Family and VIP Executive Committee, Labeque, decided that Prince Harry met the criteria for official police protection on his UK visit, which he lost in ‘Megxit’ following the stalking incident.
The prince has long argued that he and his family would not be safe in their homeland without royal support.
