Lorde chose not to join tonight’s MTV VMAS. The virgin singer was nominated in three categories, including Best Pop Artists.
On Sunday, Road chose to skip Elmont in New York as he was not at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The Grammy Award-winning singer was nominated in three categories: Song of the Year by Best Pop Artist What Was That, and is the best art direction for “Man of the Year.” She lost all categories and was not noticeable that day.

Lord’s fourth album, Virgin, was released this summer after the singer took a little break with new music. She told Radio 1 in May that she was motivated after working with Charli XCX on “Girl, So Unsusing.”
“The fact that Brat came out really gave me a kick,” she shared. “Meeting her in a robust vulnerability place and the things people really respond to that were saying, ‘OK COOL, this is a good thing.’ ”
Lord said, “I’m really struggling with this of not feeling my strength… and the remix started me. “No, people are listening, they care, and your words carry real weight.” ”
