Joy Behar shocked fans by skipping two episodes of The View in a row without any explanation.
Host Whoopi Goldberg said her fellow panelists’ absences on Wednesday and Tuesday were due to injuries.
“Hello, hello, hello, welcome to ‘The View,'” Goldberg said at the beginning of Wednesday’s talk show, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“Joy is out with a foot injury, but we hope to be back here tomorrow.”
In addition to Goldberg, Wednesday’s panel featured regular co-hosts Sarah Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farrah Griffin.
A day earlier, Goldberg, 69, ignored Behar’s absence, saying the comedian was “out of town” and would “hopefully” be back the next day. However, Behar did not appear on Wednesday.
Behar, 83, was also MIA on Monday’s episode, but it’s worth noting that she usually uses that day as a day off.
A representative for Behar did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The talk show host’s absence comes more than a month after she celebrated her 83rd birthday with a jewelry tag sale on the show.
Among the list of trinkets being sold at the show, Behar unloaded a collection of clip-on earrings, joking that “the holes are dry.”
“Right now, I have a great collection of clip-on earrings. Whenever I find them, I buy them because I’ve run out of holes,” Behar said jokingly.
Behar has been a main member of The View since its debut in 1997, except for a hiatus from 2013 to 2015.
In September, she revealed that she had been fired twice by her former boss, the late Barbara Walters.
“She actually fired me twice,” Behar told host Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” in September, noting that one firing “had something to do with Democrats and Republicans.”
She claimed that Mr Walters, who died in 2022 at the age of 93, “regretted” the decision and eventually returned as host.
