Who is Scott McKinley Hahn?
According to Hello!, Hahn grew up on New York’s Fire Island. magazine. He attended the New York School of Design, and after graduating in 2001, he began working at Logan & Egan, collaborating with designer Logan Gregory. In 2004, she founded Loomstate, a sustainable clothing design company. The brand’s website states that the design company focuses on cotton because Hahn “learned more about traditional cotton production and was disturbed by how destructive and single-minded the usual methods were.”
The two reportedly live together, splitting their time between New York City and Los Angeles.
How did the couple meet?
The two met in 2011 while attending the premiere of the movie Black Swan. In 2022, Ryder spoke about their bond in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. The actress said that despite working in completely different industries from Hahn, they “have a lot in common.”
“We connected on so many levels. But it was surprising that he wasn’t in this business…I really tried to keep quiet,” she explained, adding that he didn’t notice her when they first met. “He thought I was Milla Jovovich. He said I was great in The Fifth Element.”
In May 2011, they served as red carpet officials at Tim Burton’s opening party at LACMA.
In July 2024, Ryder spoke to Harper’s Bazaar again and talked about how he feels about Hearn now.
“He’s really great. He’s really great. I’m really lucky,” she said. The Stranger Things star went on to talk about how she chose relationships before Hahn.
“In my 30s, I had two disastrous relationships, and I wasn’t wrong about that, but this was before I even thought about searching for someone on Google,” she said. “When I look back, I’m like, ‘What the hell was I thinking?’ I was dating the type of guy who would only let you know for a few weeks that he was in a relationship with someone else, and you’re just like, ‘What the (expletive)?’
In June 2022, a source told Us Weekly that the couple is happily together despite spending 10 years together.
“While they may eventually get married, it was never a priority and they never started a family,” the source said. “[Winona]loves what they have and[they are]completely satisfied.”
