One Battle After Another’s Chase Infiniti is the 2025 ELLE Women in Hollywood winner. Speaking at an event in Los Angeles, she talked about landing a role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s project. After winning the role, “I went on the wildest journey of my life,” she said.
One Battle After Another’s Chase Infinity is still in its infancy in Hollywood, and co-star Regina Hall believes the actress has an unstoppable career ahead of her. Introducing her first Elle Women in Hollywood and Ralph Lauren Spotlight Award winner at an event in Los Angeles, Hall said that Infinity’s “parents must have had a hunch that their baby was destined for Hollywood…They named her Chase after Dr. Chase Meridian, the character played by Nicole Kidman in Batman Forever.” She said that her middle name “Infinity” comes from Toy Story…”Infinity”. And that’s certainly where you go, Chase. ”
Infinity then took to the stage to talk about growing up in a creative family in Indianapolis and falling in love with acting after watching the national tour of Grease. She became visibly emotional for a moment, then regained her composure as the audience cheered.
She also talked about booking her first appearance on Apple TV’s legal drama Presumed Innocent and how she felt “completely over my head” at first. That was until co-star Ruth Negga and director Anne Sevitsky mentored her. “Anne said she could come to the set any time,” Infinity said. “I jumped at the chance and came to set every day during filming, standing behind the monitor, just watching, observing, and learning. I followed the costume department, followed the grips, and followed the cinematographer. I soaked up as much water as I could so I could be more prepared for the next set.”
Later, during an audition for Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, Infinity asked Negative for advice. “She said exactly what I wanted to hear,” Infinity said. “Ruth told me to show up as myself. ‘Show me what you bring to the table,’ she said. ‘Show me that you’re ready to work.'”
“This led me to six months of auditions and trying to stay true to her word. I wanted to cast myself and the other actors I was playing opposite, and also happened to be Leonardo DiCaprio and Regina Hall. One day, after I finished my mixed martial arts training,[Anderson]very casually told me that he had given me the role, and I was set on the wildest journey of my life.”
She concluded by thanking the WIH winners, saying, “You all are amazing. I’m so surprised to see your name next to mine…I’m so grateful to be a woman in Hollywood.”

In the 25-year-old actress’ ELLE interview, Infinity talked about what other women in the industry have taught her.
“One of the things Ruth Negga always told me was, ‘Don’t let the noise outside get in the way of your creativity or distract you from what you think is your real purpose,'” she said. “That’s what I’m trying to do moving forward, because everyone has an opinion. Everyone is going to comment on things whether you ask for it or not. This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I’ll never take it for granted. This is an opportunity that I’m not going to take lightly. And I know that in my heart, so I’m going to do my best not to be swayed by outside opinions and voices.”
She also learned from co-star Leonardo DiCaprio: “He taught me a lot about being a leader on set and being a beacon of kindness, because he’s incredibly kind and great to work with. He’s a great guy. He’s a kind leader and someone you can easily look up to and reach out to when you need help. So I got advice from him about the industry, but I also learned a lot from him about things on set.”
With their project garnering Oscar buzz, Infinity is treating the project with awe. “I’m just grateful that people love this movie and love[my character]Willa. And of course, that’s something I never could have imagined. I’m so grateful to be a part of it in any way. It’s like that. I can’t really believe anything. It’s another pinch-me moment. It’s like, ‘What is my life?’
