Victoria Beckham has opened up about her decision to have her breast implants removed The fashion designer has revealed the real reasons behind her decision in a new interview with The Sun The former Spice Girl also opened up about how her mentor, Fench fashion designer Roland Mouret, was behind the decision.

Victoria Beckham has revealed why she decided to have her breast implants removed.

In a new interview with The Sun published on Friday, October 10, Victoria, 51, spoke candidly about the decision and revealed who was behind it.

“I don’t know where those breasts went, but they did. It’s definitely because of my work with Roland[Moulet]. He’s such a great guy, and if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have my career,” said the pop star turned fashion designer.

“It was because I needed to be taken more seriously and I didn’t know who I was,” Victoria continued. “So I think it was Roland who encouraged me to be who I am and not feel like I have to be that person just to tone it down.”

The former Spice Girl added that this allowed her to “show herself through my collection”.

Victoria launched her eponymous fashion label in 2008 and credits French fashion designer Mouret with helping her transition from music to fashion in her new Netflix documentary series Victoria Beckham.

“Roland saw something, I don’t know what, but we communicated and he believed in me,” Victoria said in a statement. “He was very honest and really tough. He didn’t care if I liked what he said or not. He just said it.”

Elsewhere in her interview with The Sun, Victoria also reflected on her fashion choices from the ’90s and early 2000s.

“After I left the Spice Girls, I spent a lot of time searching for my purpose, but I didn’t know what it was,” she continued. “I think that’s why I dressed like that. Lots of hair extensions, a tight top, and a fake tan. Although I still wear a fake tan.”

In the Netflix documentary series, Beckham also reflects on his fashion, particularly his attire at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, when all eyes were on WAGs (wives and girlfriends).

“You know, it was fun,” she said in the documentary. “I had big breasts, and I had big hair. We women shopped, and we owned it. I once saw one wife in a hotel in Baden-Baden who bought too many designer clothes and had too many bags and couldn’t get into the revolving door.”

“It was a time when I wasn’t feeling fulfilled creatively, so that’s how I was able to continue the conversation,” she added.

The documentary series pulls back the curtain on Victoria’s life and her fashion line, with three episodes filmed leading up to Victoria’s biggest fashion show in history at Paris Fashion Week in 2024.
