Has Kayla Nicole responded to Taylor Swift’s new album, “Life of a Showgirl”?
As soon as Swift, 35, dropped her 12th studio album on Friday, October 3, fans began speculating that the track “Oparite” was a dig for Nicole, who had been dating his fiancee Travis Kells for about five years since 2017.
In the song that appears to describe Swift’s previous failed relationship, before beginning to date 35-year-old Kelce, the Grammy winner appears to describe the love life of an athlete before she enters the picture.
“You couldn’t understand that, why did you feel lonely / you’re true, she was on her phone, you were just in a pose,” sings Swift with a nod that is obvious to Kelce’s romance with Nicole 33.
In an Instagram Story post on October 3rd, Nicole shared a clip of the episode of America’s next top model. In this model, competitor Eva Marsil was asked by Tyra Banks, “Do you want to compare yourself to other girls?” And he replied, “I’m not comparing myself to other girls…I’m not comparing to others.”

Swift has never publicly addressed Nicole’s former Flame and Kelce.
Nicole was previously subject to fan scrutiny in October 2023. She had not driven away Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes a few days after Swift was seen at dinner with Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, in reports that her relationship with the singer was intensifying.
Tackling rumors that she and Brittany, 30, had been dropped, Nicole said the “reality” of people’s relationships at the time was more complicated and they were personally discussing the situation.

“It’s a lot of history and friendship out there, and it won’t change overnight,” she revealed. “But publicly, things are happening so quickly and publicly, so I have to protect myself. That’s really all. Love is still there.”
During Nicole’s first public announcement after Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August, she closed questions via the Daily Mail.
Instead, she said the biggest lesson she learned in 2025 was that “other people’s opinions are as big as you.”
“So if it doesn’t affect me, it simply won’t,” Nicole added. “Do you know what I mean? On social media, it’s the whole world and I really don’t think so.”
