Martin Bobb-Semple, a burgeoning British actor who recently landed the lead role in the live-action Tomb Raider series produced by Amazon MGM Studios, has signed with CAA.
Bob Semple most recently starred in All American: Homecoming as series regular Orlando “Rand” Johnson. Starting out as a recurring character, he was promoted to lead role in the series in season three. Prior to that, he starred in two seasons of Peacock’s “One of Us is Liing” and had a series lead role in Netflix’s “Free Reign.”
However, the highly anticipated Tomb Raider, which is currently in production, looks set to take the actor’s star to a new level.
Led by Sophie Turner, who plays Lara Croft, the show stars Bob Semple in a major series regular role as Zip, one of Croft’s key allies, her trusted technical support and friend. In the game, Zip primarily works in the guard room in the main hall of Croft Manor and provides important information to Croft during quests.
In fact, Bob Semple’s name was the first person listed after Turner when Amazon officially announced the full cast line-up earlier this month, ahead of Jason Isaacs and Bill Patterson, who were also confirmed for regular roles. Other cast members in the video game version include Sigourney Weaver, Celia Imrie, Jack Bannon, and John Hefferman, written and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who also serves as showrunner.
Bob-Semple made his acting debut in a production of Oliver Twist in London’s West End before training at the Identity School of Drama. From there, he later booked his first television appearance on the BBC.
He will continue to represent Femi Oganzu and Ikki El Amriti of Identity Agency Group (IAG) in the UK.
