Timothée Chalamet’s sister Pauline appeared to have a “cold attitude” during a run-in with Kylie Jenner at the 2026 Oscars ceremony on Sunday night.
Body language expert Susan Constantine gave an exclusive interview to Page Six after a video of a seemingly cold exchange between the “College Sex Life” alum and Jenner went viral on social media.
This video was shared by E! In the news, the Marty Supreme star, who was nominated for Best Actor last night, was captured talking to Pauline, with Jenner sitting behind him.
When Jenner noticed Pauline, she stood up and tried to hug her, but Pauline seemed a little hesitant.
“Pauline fired Kylie right away,” Constantine believes. “Kylie sat there, surprised, but made eye contact and raised her eyebrows to show genuine interest.”
Constantine said he believed Pauline treated the Kylie Cosmetics founder with “unspeakable disrespect”, saying she seemed “impersonal, negative and dishonest”.
“Pauline’s body language quickly drifted away from Kylie,” Constantine noted, explaining her apparent “nonverbal smugness.”
“Pauline’s body language also showed hesitation before the fake hug.”
Social media users flooded the comments section of the post, pointing out the apparent awkwardness between Pauline and her brother’s partner.
“My sister doesn’t like Kylie,” one person theorized, receiving more than 20,000 likes from other social media users.
“It was a weird moment. She’s clearly not a fan of Kylie,” another source agreed.
“Everything about this clip was so awkward,” opined a third commenter, while another added: “This is the fakest interaction I’ve ever seen.”
However, other Instagram users denied speculation that there was any animosity between the two.
“People are just haters… You can clearly see Kylie sitting in the back… His sister is looking embarrassed… There’s nothing awkward here… Everyone needs to calm down,” one defender commented.
“Why does everyone always have to criticize?” asked another.
One fan chimed in: “I thought Kylie seemed so sweet.”
Ever since Timothée, 30, started dating Jenner, 28, in 2023, there have been rumors that Pauline, 34, is not happy with their relationship.
Pauline raised eyebrows in March 2025 when she posted a message on Instagram criticizing billionaires.
“Our system is so flawed that it allows billionaires to exist, amass vast sums of money, and yet pay very little (and in some cases, no) taxes,” she reportedly wrote at the time.
“That shouldn’t happen. We don’t need billionaires to exist. It’s not democratic to have Bezos, Musk and Zuckerberg sitting in front of the cabinet. It’s not democratic,” she added.
Fans pointed out that the message may have been directed at Jenner, who was named a first-generation billionaire by Forbes magazine in 2019 (the magazine later retracted the label after investigating her finances).
However, Pauline and Jenner have been spotted spending time together, and any unfounded feud rumors seem to have been shut down.
Pauline was spotted with the Hulu personality at a low-key barbecue in May 2023.
Pauline once again showed her support for Jenner when she reportedly attended a Kylie Cosmetics pop-up event in West Hollywood in October 2025.
