‘Storage Wars’ star Darrell Sheets’ last words were telling his girlfriend to “go back to bed” before his shocking death in April.
According to a Lake Havasu Police Department incident report obtained by Page Six, an unnamed woman told police that Sheets suffered from insomnia most of the night and would get out of bed late.
She said he then asked her to “go back to bed” while standing in the doorway of his office. Shortly after, she said, “I heard a single gunshot.”
The unidentified woman also claimed in the report that Darrell had a “verbal” argument with her son Brandon Sheets at their Arizona home over “family drama.”
Ms Darrell received an angry email from her daughter-in-law, who said she was “sad and upset” and was “devastated” and “sad to death” after the controversial visit with her son.
The reality TV star’s girlfriend also revealed heartbreaking details about his final moments in a 911 call obtained by TMZ on Thursday.
After the A&E star’s partner “heard a gun go off” at her home, she called emergency services and told them: “I think he just killed himself. Yes, Darrell.”
In the audio, she clarified that she “didn’t see anything” because she “didn’t want to”.
Shocked by the situation, she told the operator: “I can’t believe it. I know he’s frustrated with all this sleep deprivation and the kids. It’s terrible, it’s terrible.”
The reality star left a handwritten suicide note that detectives said they found in a “black box” in his closet after his death.
A Lake Havasu Police Department incident report summarizes the note as, “I couldn’t take any more Facebook bullying, you (redacted).”
According to the report, “the writing was erratic.”
Darrell was found dead on April 22 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The Mohave County Coroner’s Office later confirmed in May that he died by suicide.
“Storage Wars” castmates Laura Dotson and Dan Dotson claimed they lived in fear of cyberbullying allegations before his death.
Sergeant Kyle Ridgway previously told Page Six: “We are aware of these cyberbullying allegations and this is part of an active investigation.”
Brandon, who appeared on the series with his father from 2010 to 2017, mourned his father’s death in an emotional Instagram upload.
“My heart is so broken… I love you dad. I will do my best to honor him and live in honor of our family,” he wrote in part of an April 30 Instagram post.
