Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is coming to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights as a haunted house experience.
Halloween Horror Nights begins August 28th at Universal Studios Orlando Resort and September 3rd at Universal Studios Hollywood.
“It’s incredible to see audiences connect with ‘Sinners’ in such a powerful way,” Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Seb Ohanian, the film’s producers and founders of Proximity Media, said in a statement. He added: “Now, by partnering with Halloween Horror Nights, fans will have the opportunity to immerse themselves even deeper into the world of the film and feel the music, atmosphere and tension that surround them. Seeing the film come to life on such a scale is truly special for all of us.”
The “Sinners” haunted house transports guests back in time to a juke joint. So when the evil red-eyed vampires Remick, Bart, and Joan show up with an insatiable hunger, guests will soon discover that things aren’t quite what they thought. As they try to escape vampires at every turn, fans will encounter their favorite characters taken directly from the movies, including Sammy, Mary, Annie, Pearline, Cornbread, and more. Caught in a deadly battle between twins Smoke and Stack and bloodthirsty vampires, the guests must survive the night. Because fear cannot be resolved until the sun rises.
“Halloween Horror Nights pushes the boundaries of the live horror experience,” said John Mardy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. “Just as Ryan Coogler’s Academy Award-winning Sinners reinvented the vampire movie, we’re reinventing the haunted house and creating new ways to frighten guests like never before, and we’re excited to bring this incredible story to life in a truly frightening and fully immersive way.”
Sinners became the highest-grossing original horror film, receiving 16 Academy Award nominations and winning four Oscars. Written, directed and produced by Coogler, and co-produced by fellow Proximity Media producers Gingy Coogler and Seb Ohanian, the film is set in the Mississippi Delta in the 1930s, and follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack (played by Michael B. Jordan) who return to their hometown to open a juke joint for the community. On opening night, the celebrations turn into panic as a group of merciless vampires invades and threatens to violently curse the guests in a brutal fight for survival.
“The moment ‘Sinners’ premiered, we knew it would be a perfect fit for Halloween Horror Nights and we wanted to bring this story to life,” said Mike Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment and Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort. “It’s rare for a movie to completely satisfy hardcore horror fans while also inviting new audiences to the genre, and that’s exactly what Sinners is. Its world, characters, and intensity are so unique that fans can step inside and enjoy Halloween.” We can’t wait for you to experience the horror firsthand in the way only Horror Nights can.”

The Halloween Horror Nights ticket will run for 42 days, featuring eight haunted houses, a Terror Tram, multiple scare zones, and more.
