Sidney Sweeney is preparing to finish filming season 3 of Euphoria.
“I finished ‘Euphoria’ in two days,” she said at the AFI Fest premiere of her new drama “Christie” in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Sweeney spoke about returning to the HBO series after three years. “We have pretty much the same staff, so it feels like coming home to family,” she said. “I’ve grown up with them. I was 20 years old when I did the pilot, so it was such a relief to see so many of the same people.”
HBO previously announced that season 3 would be the last, but I asked Sweeney about the possibility of season 4. “I cannot confirm any information,” she said.
Just last week, Jacob Elordi teased Season 3 while walking the red carpet at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. “It was incredible,” he told me. “It was incredibly liberating. I got to play something that was so different from anything I’d ever done before.”
He said series creator Sam Levinson had “created something incredibly smart and cinematic, and I think people are going to love it.”
Elordi also claimed that she doesn’t know exactly what will happen in season 3. “Everyone shoots for a different storyline,” he said. “I don’t know what other people are doing. I had a really singular storyline. I don’t know what the other storylines are. It’s like the FBI files. So it’s great because as a fan, I get to consume the show like everyone else. I’m really excited about it, something I haven’t been able to do before.”
“I feel like I can watch it with everyone,” Sweeney said.
Sweeney will soon begin preparatory work to play actress Kim Novak in Scandal. Directed by Coleman Domingo, the film depicts Novak’s interracial romance with Sammy Davis Jr. (David Johnson) in 1957.
“I’m going to meet her,” Sweeney said. “I’m going to work with my movement coach and dialect coach and watch all of her film and study. I’m really excited.”
