Selena Gomez was nominated for a Grammy alongside her husband Benny Blanco, with the couple’s song “Bluest Flame” being honored, and Gomez celebrated the moment on Instagram.
On Friday morning, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco were nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Dance-Pop Recording category. This honor went to the song “Bluest Flame” from their first album, I Said I Love You First.
The Only Murders in the Building star posted an Instagram Story later that day celebrating the moment. She shared a post from Billboard with two “head exploding” emojis and a thank you to the Recording Academy.
In August, Blanco told Harper’s Bazaar that writing with Gomez was an easy process.
“You know, it’s so easy to write songs about Selena because she’s the best,” Blanco said, adding that Selena isn’t the subject of every song. “Songs have multiple meanings. Sometimes when I write a song, people think it’s about the woman[I’m dating]but it’s actually about my relationship with my mother.”

Although this was their first album, it was not the first time they had worked together on music. On the Aug. 7 episode of Therapus with Jake Shane, Gomez talked about first meeting Blanco when she was 16 years old, but they ended up not producing anything that year.
“I feel like he was an acquaintance, if that makes sense,” she said. “To be honest, we weren’t really good friends. I just thought he was a nice guy and we did a few songs together.[We did]’Same Old Love,’ which was great, and we had a lot of fun…nothing special. And[we did]’I Can’t Get Enough,’ which we did with Tiny and J. Balvin…it didn’t go over there either. I just thought he was funny, and I didn’t think anything of it.”
The two started dating in 2023 and got engaged in December 2024. They got married on the last weekend of September 2025 in Montecito, California.
