Kanye West had an “awkward” moment with “dear friend” Deon Cole on stage at his comedy show on Friday night.
While the “Adult-ish” actor was finishing up his set for a Hollywood improv show, he asked the rapper, who was attending the show with his wife Bianca Censoli and music director John Monopoly, to come on stage.
“Now give it up for my dear friend. Thanks for coming out, dog. Did you have fun tonight?” Cole asked West, and West just nodded.
“Did you laugh? It wasn’t a fake smile. … Do you laugh without pity?” the comedian asked the father of four, who just laughed and shook his head.
“You were saying some extreme up stuff? Why doesn’t your body language give you some fucked up body language? You’re there and you’re like, ‘Hmm, yeah,'” Cole joked.
The “Black-ish” alum, 53, later told West, 48, that she was grateful to him for coming on the show.
As the Grammy winner continued to stand there in silence, Cole joked that they were having a “fun, healthy conversation.”
The “Average Joe” star then asked West if he had any upcoming projects that viewers should “watch out for,” to which the Yeezy founder replied, “There’s a new album coming out.”
Cole then joked that he wanted to be featured on an interlude on West’s new album and asked if he could send him a care package of clothing.
Cole shared a video of the moment on Instagram, and fans labeled the interaction “awkward AF.”
One social media user wrote, “LOL, well, awkward and awkward combined! Perfect for Chicago pop! LOL,” while another quipped, “Kanye is acting like his slow cousin.”
A third netizen commented: “You definitely put him on the spot. He probably has social anxiety or Samum.”
A fourth fan wrote: “It was really awkward.”
Two days ago, West and Sensoli, 30, enjoyed a Christmas Eve date in Los Angeles to see a performance of the ballet “The Nutcracker.”
TMZ reported that the couple, who married in 2022, kept a low profile during the show.
On Sunday, the couple took West’s son Saint, 10, and daughter Chicago, 7, to Disneyland’s California Adventure.
