What you need to know
Despite the ups and downs of the past year, Scott Wolf remains grateful.
The 57-year-old actor posted a compilation of photos from the past 12 months on Instagram on Thursday, January 1st. But the slideshow started with a photo of a literal dumpster fire.
“Summary of 2025. Thank you for the hardest year of my life,” Scott wrote. “The curriculum was cruel to the people I loved most. I suffered, I learned, I grew, I loved, I laughed, I cried. It was mostly learning and growing.”
He continued, “In other words, life. I think we’ve passed. I love people more than ever. I love people more than ever. I love my job more than ever. So the most difficult year has brought the most love. That’s just life. I hope your 2026 is full of love ❤️.”
Scott posted a few photos of himself working on the Fox medical series “Doc,” but his posts focused almost entirely on his family.
Scott filed for divorce from his estranged wife Kelly Wolfe on June 9, 2025 after 21 years of marriage. The couple have three children, sons Jackson (16) and Miller (13), and daughter Lucy (11).
A few days later, Kelly was placed in a 5150 psychiatric unit at a Utah hospital after friends became concerned about her mental health. At the time, Scott filed for an initial restraining order against the former Real World star, but ended up withdrawing the order the following month.

Kelly was arrested in August on suspicion of harassing friends and family members and divulging personal information online, including postings revealing Scott’s personal phone number and interactions with her children. She was charged with three misdemeanors. The charges included one count of harassment by electronic communication and two counts of electronic disclosure of personally identifying information.
Following the incident, an order of protection was issued against Kelly, barring her from having any direct or indirect contact with Scott or the children. Less than a week later, she was charged with another misdemeanor for violating that order.
Kelly told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement at the time that he was “completely shocked by the continued aggressive use of the legal system, and perhaps even more.”
“(It) has become almost unbearable for my body, my family’s health, and my period of well-being,” she continued. “I’m not really sure how these things are handled. I abide by all the legal things and at no time have I said anything disrespectful to anyone. For those who don’t understand, divorce can take a long time. People who keep putting pressure on mothers when they’re just fighting for their children are people who need to check themselves.”
In late September, Kelly was admitted to the Utah State Psychiatric Hospital again after allegedly making threats against herself and Scott. Sources told PEOPLE at the time that she underwent an interview and mental health evaluation on September 26, and a judge placed her on a mandatory court-ordered psychiatric hold of at least 60 days.
“She is currently considered a danger to herself and others and is being held against her will,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Right now it’s important to stabilize her mood with medication, but she’ll be fine.”

Kelly was unable to continue with the divorce process while undergoing treatment, but by October 3, her 49th birthday, tensions between her and her ex-boyfriend appeared to have resolved.
Scott acknowledged the day on Instagram by posting an old photo of Kelly smiling. “Happy birthday 🎂❤️🩹,” he wrote.

Two months later, a Utah court granted Scott’s request to dismiss a modified temporary protective order against Kelly. The case was subsequently dismissed and the issued confidentiality order declared invalid.
Kelly, her attorney, and Scott’s representatives did not respond to subsequent requests for comment from PEOPLE.
