Sarah Foster has revealed that she once went on a “depressing” date with George Clooney, set up by her famous friend Cindy Crawford and Cindy’s husband Rande Gerber.
“I started dating George Clooney almost 30 years ago. It was a really shitty thing to do. I had to say I’m sorry,” Foster told her sister Erin Foster on Thursday’s episode of “The World’s First Podcast.”
Sarah, 44, continued: “I remember thinking, ‘Oh, he’s so old.'”
“I think George Clooney is a nice guy, but I just remember the four of us sitting there thinking, ‘I wonder if I’m going to die, I wonder if I’m going to die,'” Sarah said, adding that she was also “very sad” about another recent breakup at the time.
“Then, this is someone who feels like a grandpa. It was depressing. I was so depressed,” she continued.
The “90210” star added that she was ultimately “pissed off” by Crawford and Gerber’s attempts to set her up with the Oscar winner, who is now 64 and years her senior.
“I always say that when I see young girls dating older men. Of course, sometimes it makes sense and that’s all that matters,” she reflected.
She continued, “I never understood how a 19-year-old could be obsessed with a 40-year-old. I always thought it was so weird.”
Sarah also revealed that she felt Clooney wasn’t very hot towards her after the date either.
“I also don’t think George was like, ‘Oh, go out with Sarah Foster.’ I think Rande and Cindy were like, ‘We know someone who’s great,'” she said.
“I don’t think he was that into it either. I started crying about his ex-boyfriend, and I think he was like, ‘I can’t have this woman,'” she joked.
A representative for Clooney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Foster later married tennis player Tommy Haas, with whom she has two daughters, Valentina, 14, and Josephine, nine.
The couple finally broke up in August 2024 after nearly 20 years together.
Meanwhile, Clooney married his wife Amal Clooney in September 2014, and the couple are parents to eight-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.
