Sandra Bernhardt checks in to Season 4 of “The White Lotus.”
The “Severance” and “Marty Supreme” actor joins previously announced cast members Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina and AJ Michalka in the French-set production of HBO’s holiday drama.
Details of Bernard’s role are unknown. Additional cast members have yet to be announced as creator Mike White finalizes the ensemble for season four.
As Variety exclusively reported in January, “The White Lotus” Season 4 will primarily be filmed at a luxury hotel in a converted 19th-century palace called Château de la Mésardière in Saint-Tropez on the Cote d’Azur. (This will be the first season to be held at a resort other than the Four Seasons.) Sources say the story will also take place along the Cote d’Azur and in Paris, with the Cannes Film Festival potentially part of the plot.
White will executive produce The White Lotus alongside David Barnardo and Mark Kamain. The series has been in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand and has become an awards magnet, winning 16 Emmys and receiving 66 nominations.
With more than 100 acting credits, Bernhardt is best known for her roles in films such as “The King of Comedy,” “Hudson Hawk” and “Without You I’m Nothing.” She also starred as Nancy Bartlett Thomas on the ABC sitcom “Roseanne” and played nurse Judy Kublak on Ryan Murphy’s FX series “Pose.” Her recent credits include Timothée Chalamet’s Oscar-winning film “Marty Supreme” and Apple TV’s “Severance,” where she played a menacing scientist in the final episode of season two.
Deadline first reported the news.
