For Sadie Sink, Marvel secrets are harder to keep than Stranger Things spoilers.
For her next role, the Stranger Things star will join the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sink told The Hollywood Reporter that he first found out he would be appearing in the Spider-Verse while finishing the fifth and final season of the Netflix series.
“Oh, that was crazy,” Sink said. “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man, especially Tom’s Spider-Man. It’s a familiar feeling for me to be a fan of something and then be a part of it, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was so excited about what they had planned.”
“It was one of my first movies when I was 14 years old, and I also worked with director Destin Daniel Cretten, so it’s kind of a full-circle moment for me,” she said. “I had a great time working on that movie.”
He added, “I can’t wait to tell you more. There’s so much I want to share. So in a way it feels easy to keep the secrets of Stranger Things. There are so many secrets about Spider-Man that it feels even more secret.”

The fourth installment in the series takes place four years after Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Brand New Day picks up where the series left off, depicting a world where Spider-Man’s legacy has been erased. In the 2021 superhero movie, Spider-Man asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell to erase his memory world in order to give him a chance to live a normal life as Peter Parker.
“We have to deal with the fact that he was going to give up on being Peter Parker and focus on being Spider-Man, because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what this movie is about,” producer Amy Pascal told Deadline in December 2024.
When asked what kind of role he would like to try in the future, Sink replied, “I’m open to anything,” but he loves a good challenge.
“I find myself drawn to challenges, and that’s a good thing,” she explained. “One of the important things for me is to really tap into every aspect of myself as an actor. When choosing a new project, the first thing I look for is how it’s going to push me in a way I haven’t been pushed before. I’ve been doing this work for a very long time, so I’m in a good time right now, but I’m still very young, so I have a lot to learn as I get older and step into more adult roles.”
“So, I don’t really have a genre that I want to do. But I feel like in a few years I’ll be like, ‘I want to do comedy or something really light,’ which I’ve always said. But I’m still drawn to darker, more demanding stuff,” Whale continued.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will be released in theaters on July 31st.
