Sabrina Carpenter has a big night ahead of her at the Grammy Awards, with six nominations and a performance at the ceremony. For her red carpet look, the Man’s Best Friend singer embraced floral print, but in a more subtle yet breathtaking way. She wore a sheer white custom Valentino dress with intricate beading across the bodice. It’s worth a closer look.
Carpenter has been nominated in several of the show’s biggest categories. Her song “Manchild” has been nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video. Meanwhile, her album Man’s Best Friend won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Carpenter performed at last year’s Grammy Awards, wearing four looks, including two gowns. She started the night on the red carpet wearing a backless Cinderella blue JW Anderson dress.
She topped it off with a gold sweetheart dress by Atelier Versace.
During her performance, she wore a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo before revealing a glittering light blue bodysuit and feathered cape. Considering that precedent, tonight’s red carpet look is just the beginning of her wardrobe.
In December, Carpenter spoke to Variety about his public image, saying that when he was younger he admired singers who talked about sex. “I always thought, ‘As I grow up, I’ll be more accepting of my sexuality. I still don’t know what that means!'” she said, adding of her younger fans, “I don’t think they know[what that means]either. I wish we had talked about it more openly when we were younger. But people are too scared to talk about it.”
She cleared up one misconception about herself. “People think, ‘Oh, she’ll say anything and do anything.'” No, I really have boundaries with myself. You’ll be surprised! I’m actually just living my life and you’re watching it. If you don’t like it, it’s not for you. If you like it, let’s play. ”
“I want to remember this as a time in my life when I really didn’t resist,” she added. “I wore the skirt I wanted to wear, I was able to talk about it without regretting it, and I was very open. I think that’s all that matters.”
