As revealed in the show’s midseason trailer released at BravoCon on Friday, former and possibly future “Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger sat down for a sit-down interview with “The Real Housewives” series executive producer Andy Cohen. This trailer was played during the show’s “Potomac Takes Vegas” panel featuring the season 10 cast (Huger is not appearing, but she is attending a fan convention this weekend). Cohen and Huger’s interview will be aired during the season finale. When the BravoCon audience learned that Cohen would be interviewing Huger, the audience began to cheer and erupt into thunderous applause.
Huger was released on September 2 after serving six months in prison. She was arrested in March 2024 in Potomac, Maryland, on charges including drunk driving and driving while impaired. She had three previous drunk driving offenses. Throughout Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, she proclaimed her innocence and maintained that she would be acquitted. Huger was found guilty on all charges in a December 2024 trial and entered a treatment facility. Although she did not attend the Season 9 reunion, which was recorded after her conviction and aired in February of this year, she recorded a video message saying, “No, I’m not an alcoholic, let me be clear.” Huger said it might be time to abandon the mantle of “Grand Dame,” a nickname she’s proudly worn for years, to become just “Karen.”
In his interview with Cohen, Huger appears to be going down a different path. At the end of the trailer, a voice says “Karen!” Then the invisible Huger says in a gentle tone, “Hello?” Off-camera, she then said, “I’m fine, thank you.” Afterwards, Ms. Huger’s husband, Ray, cheerfully greeted Mr. Cohen at the front door, and as they took their seats, Ms. Cohen said: “Here I am, you’re a free woman,” Huger said, looking comfortable in a beige sweater. “It’s time to talk about my addiction.”
Huger was sentenced on February 26 to two years in prison, suspended for one year, and suspended for five years. She was immediately taken into custody and an early release date announced in August.
During a panel discussion, cast member Gisele Bryant, Huger’s longtime friend and sparring partner, said she spends time with Huger and “makes an effort.”
She’s not the only “RHOP” cast member to deal with legal issues. The trailer also shows that the show has returned for a finale to shed light on the current plight of Wendy Osefo and Eddie Osefo, whose arrest on multiple fraud charges shocked the Bravo sphere in October.
“We’ve been through a lot in life together,” Eddie Osefo says to Wendy. “But this is difficult.” She replied, “How do you think this will affect our marriage?” Then the two hug each other.
Wendy Osefo appeared on the Bravocon panel but said she could not comment on the details of the allegations.
