“Project Hail Mary” rose to the top spot at the Korean box office during the weekend from April 3 to 5, 2026. According to data from KOBIS, a tracking service run by the Korea Film Council, the film earned $2.4 million from 328,750 admissions, giving it a 39.56% revenue share. Since its release on March 18, the movie starring Ryan Gosling has grossed a total of $12.2 million.

“The King’s Warden” moved into second place, but continued its historic run by passing the $100 million revenue milestone. The historical drama added $1.7 million over the weekend, bringing its unprecedented total to $103.1 million. The number of visitors for the three days was 270,272, bringing the total number of moviegoers to 16,091,712. Currently, the number of viewers is less than 170,000, making it the second most-watched movie in Korean history, surpassing the 2019 comedy film “Extreme Job” (16.26 million people).

Local crime-action comedy “The Ultimate Duo” debuted in third place with $263,270 over the weekend. The film, directed by Park Cheol-hwan and starring Bae Sung-woo and Jung Ga-ram, depicts the unlikely partnership between a veteran detective who is demoted to a rural police station and a rookie cop turned wealthy influencer. The two embark on an unauthorized investigation that turns from a petty theft at a church to a high-stakes murder in Gangnam. Since its release on April 2nd, it has grossed $349,149.

Japanese romantic drama “The Last Song You Left Behind” came in fourth with $257,847. Directed by Takahiro Miki and based on the novel by Misaki Ichijo, the film stars Shunsuke Michieda and Airu Ikumi as two musicians who develop a bond over music and poetry over many years. Since its release on April 1st, it has grossed $371,666.

Despite having a limited number of screenings, Demon Slayer: Mugen Castle had a huge box office success over the weekend, taking fifth place and earning $293,306. The film’s cumulative box office revenue in South Korea has now reached $41.4 million.

Pixar’s “Hoppers” came in sixth place, adding $147,399 for a total of $4.8 million. It is scheduled to be released nationwide on April 8th.
