Peacock AI-generated Andy Cohen reveals Bravo gossip in vertical video

NBCUniversal is betting that Andy Cohen’s digital replica will lead Peacock users deeper into the “Bravoverse” and allow them to spend more time with the service.

An AI-generated version of Cohen, which tees up new and recent Bravo shows based on users’ preferences, is set to debut on Peacock’s mobile app in summer 2026. This is one of the new features NBCU is adding to Peacock. The goal is to differentiate Peacock from other streaming services by adding new “experiences” for fans, such as vertical video and games, including games based on Wolf Entertainment’s “Law & Order” universe.

“Instead of thinking of[Peacock]as a streaming platform, think of it as an entertainment platform,” NBCUniversal Media Group Chairman Matt Strauss said in a press conference this week. The company wants to expand the “frontage” of experiences on Peacock so that fans of the NBCU franchise “don’t have to go elsewhere to get the experience they love.”

“The best place to watch ‘SNL’ or Bravo is Peacock,” Strauss said. “But you can also add more.”

NBCU describes Your Bravoverse as a “first-of-its-kind, AI-powered vertical video experience” guided by an AI-generated version of “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen. When starting the experience for the first time, Peacock users select their favorite Bravo shows and “iconic moments.” Cohen then narrates a personalized playlist of swipeable video clips culled from over 5,000 hours of Bravo footage (over 600 billion viewable variations).

Peacock labels Cohen’s avatar in the app as AI-generated. When a user launches Your Bravoverse for the first time, they are shown a video of the real Andy Cohen saying, “Introducing my digital twin, the AI version of me.”

Cohen’s avatar was created using technology from UK-based Synthesia and trained using only footage recorded at Synthesia Studios, which was used to capture and recreate Cohen’s likeness and mannerisms. NBCU used other technology to replicate his voice. In the run-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, the company debuted an AI-generated version of Al Michaels’ voice narrating the daily recap. The AI version of Cohen takes it to the next level by also adding video.

The company promises that Your Bravoverse will “weave together intricate storylines across seasons and series that will help fans relive memorable moments and discover new connections never seen before.” The AI-generated Cohen will also be able to reference sponsored brands as part of the experience, although NBCU says it’s still figuring out what this will look like at launch.

“If there’s one thing Bravo fans love, it’s being part of the conversation,” Cohen said in a statement provided by NBCU. “Your Bravoverse takes it to the next level by bringing AI into the mix and creating an experience that’s intuitive, interactive, and built entirely around Bravo fandom. It combines the best of AI and Bravo, helping fans discover shows, dive deeper into their favorite moments, and connect with Bravo like never before. All guided by me. Well, not exactly me, but my version!”

According to NBCU, Your Bravoverse playlists will be updated regularly and include “ongoing insights” from Cohen. The company says its editorial team will verify the AI output and scrutinize the playlists for “quality and accuracy.”

This new feature is aimed at both die-hard Bravo fans and casual viewers. Bravo viewers watch an average of 24 hours of its content each month, and its most avid viewers watch up to 75 episodes each month. Starting in 2024, nearly all returning Bravo series have aired season after season on Peacock, with an average viewership increase of 41%, according to NBCU. According to NBCU, it highlights the main reason why Peacock continues to stick with Bravo while the media company spun off its other cable TV assets into Versant earlier this year.

Bravoverse will first be available on mobile as a vertical video experience and later expand to connected TV devices. When released this summer, it will be featured prominently on Peacock’s homepage and be accessible through a dedicated vertical video space on the mobile app. At the 2026 SXSW in Austin, NBCU will preview Your Bravoverse at NBCUniversal’s “Play with Peacock” pop-up on Sunday, March 15, and watch a keynote featuring Strauss and Cohen.

Additionally, the Peacock app will launch the ability to watch complete live broadcasts of NBA games in vertical format this spring, after first introducing genre-bending vertical clips in early 2025. This feature uses AI to perform real-time crops of live events and track where the action takes place on the court. According to NBCU, the ability to live stream games natively on mobile in a 9:16 vertical format is an industry first.

On the gaming side, Peacock will debut two mobile games from Wolf Games. For one, a game based on Wolf Entertainment’s “Law & Order” universe called “Law & Order: Clue Hunter” will be released this spring, and an original interactive narrative game created by Elliot Wolf called “Public Eye” will be released this summer. And this spring, Peacock will debut a new mobile game based on the popular game show “Jeopardy!” These join the existing mobile mini-games on the app: Wheel of Fortune, Today, and Prediction Games.

Note that Peacock is still in the red. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the streaming service’s operating loss widened to $552 million, compared to a loss of $372 million in the year-ago period, as Peacock’s revenue rose to $1.6 billion from $1.3 billion a year earlier. Peacock added 3 million net new paying customers during this period, giving it 44 million paying subscribers by 2025.

In February of this year, the company’s coverage of the 2026 Italian Winter Olympics and Super Bowl LIX likely attracted more Peacock subscribers as NBCU touted record streaming numbers for both events.
