John Beavers has joined the cast of an NBC drama pilot starring Dean Georgis and John Foxx, Variety has confirmed. Additionally, Jennifer Morrison has been appointed as director.
Beavers joins previously announced series star Emily Deschanel and fellow cast member Anne Lee Bogan in the untitled pilot, which is inspired by the real-life research of internationally renowned professional profiler and author Dr. Anne Burgess.
The show’s official logline reads, “Professor Georgia Ryan (Deschanel) is a pioneering psychologist who challenges the field of criminology by shifting the focus of investigations from perpetrators to victims in order to uncover important clues left behind by traditional methods. Together with her team, this pioneering expert turns to the FBI to solve the most mysterious and elusive cases.”
The Beavers will face Will Andover. His character description reads, “He was the top profiler in his class at Quantico, but has since fallen from grace. He is now at a crossroads in his career and in desperate need of a win.”
Beavers currently stars as Billy Pace on Hulu’s hit series “Paradise.” He also recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film One Battle After Another. Other television credits include “Animal Kingdom,” “Bel Air” and “Sugar.” He has appeared in films such as “Horizon: Chapters 1 and 2” and “Licorice Pizza.”
He is repped by Artium Talent, Untitled Entertainment, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer.
George Garris and Foxx will serve as writers and executive producers on the pilot, with John Davis serving as executive producer through Davis Entertainment. In addition to starring, Deschanel will also produce. Burgess is a consulting producer, as is Steve Constantine. In addition to directing, Morrison will also executive produce the pilot. Produced by Universal Television.
