OT Fagbenle and Osun Group have launched development on the dark action comedy series Kill the Bedfords at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety exclusively reported.
In addition to starring, OT also serves as creator, writer, and executive producer on the project. Ruti Fagbenle and Sheila Notley of Osun Group will serve as executive producers. Tara Ayeni is the Director of Development at Osun Group.
The show’s official logline describes it as “a darkly comedic, action-packed, post-apocalyptic road series about a dysfunctional family trying to save their grandfather as the world falls apart. It explores survival, technology, and human stubbornness through the lens of a family that can’t stop bickering even as civilization falls apart.”
This is not the first series starring and written by OT. He previously worked in a similar capacity on British comedy series Maxxx, which was also executive produced by O.T.’s brother Luthi. Ayeni was also the show’s script executive, script editor, and additional script writer. OT also directed multiple episodes.
OT is perhaps best known for playing Lucas Bankole on Hulu’s hit series The Handmaid’s Tale. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama in 2021 for the series. Other television credits include “The First Lady,” “We Crushed,” “The Spoils of War,” and “Presumed Innocent.”
Osun Group’s recent projects include BBC Storyville’s documentary “White Man Walking,” Netflix’s version of “Blue Therapy,” and Streamz’s Belgian version of “Koppels in Crisis.” Osun Group is also currently developing a series version of Yrsa Daley-Ward’s novel The Catch.
OT is represented by Buchwald, Management 360, and Hansen Jacobson. Luthi is represented by WME. Sheila is a principal at 42 Management & Production
