Netflix reveals theater locations and showtimes

“Stranger Things” is coming to an end. Netflix has confirmed the theater locations that will screen the final episode of the series.

The final episode of the global hit series will be shown in more than 500 theaters in the United States and Canada on December 31st at 5pm PT and will run until January 1st, 2026, according to the distributor. Netflix also officially announced that the final episode will run for 2 hours and 5 minutes.

A full list of participating theaters can be found at www.st5finale.com. It also includes instructions on how to confirm your attendance. Tickets for the screening will not be sold, but exhibitors will sell discount tickets to fans that guarantee a seat at the screening. Therefore, the theater owner would keep the revenue from the screening. No tickets or gift certificates will be sold at Netflix-owned theaters, but fans can register through the RSVP list.

News that the final film in the series would be released in theaters was first announced in October after the Duffer brothers expressed their hope for it to happen in a Variety cover story interview. Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, initially said that would not happen, but changed her mind after fans wanted to see the finale on the big screen.

Netflix has been releasing select movies theatrically for years, but this will be the first time they’ve released them in theaters without collecting box office revenue.

The first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5 are now available. The next three episodes will be released on December 25th, with the final episode arriving on Netflix and theaters on December 31st.

“Stranger Things” is one of the most popular shows in Netflix history. As previously announced by the streamer, all four previous seasons were re-ranked into the top 10 list before the start of season 5, marking the first time that the previous four seasons of the series were featured on the list at the same time.
