Natasha Lyonne claims in a new post on X that she was “detained” by ICE after being removed from a plane after appearing at the Euphoria Season 3 premiere in Hollywood on April 7th. The Emmy-nominated actress, who made headlines for appearing on the red carpet for Euphoria in a see-through top, was clarifying widespread reports that she was removed from a flight from Los Angeles to New York before takeoff due to unruly behavior. Page Six first reported the story.
“Indeed, I boarded the Lunesta once I was seated to make sure I saw the red-eye flight on Delta One to New York,” Lyon posted on X in response to one of the reports tweeted by E! news. “I had a smooth boarding with just my backpack and sneakers and wanted to take a nap. After landing I was planning to head straight to the ‘gram for a slot with my beloved Drew Barrymore, so the bushy-tailed beauty was going to rest. More with Drew I was looking forward to that conversation, but apparently ICE had other plans and was detained instead. I think it’s a sign of the times. Thank you for all the love and support. We’ve never had a problem with Delta or TSA. Our hearts go out to them.” TSA officials, we apologize to the delayed travelers. ”
A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson denied Lyon’s claims and issued the following statement to Variety: “Neither ICE nor TSA escorted or detained Natasha Lyon.”
Variety has reached out to Lyon’s attorney for comment.
Lyon first revealed that she was heading to New York City to appear on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in an April 9 post on X, in which she criticized Page Six’s reporting, writing, “My heart goes out to all the unpaid TSA workers at the airport. I was certainly looking forward to speaking honestly with Drew Barrymore yesterday, but I never expected it. Now again, who owns Page Six/New York Post?”
A few hours after posting, Lyonne appeared in New York City and walked the red carpet at the premiere of Focus Features’ documentary “Loan.” She also attended the movie’s afterparty and posed for photos with friends including Seth Meyers and Sarah Sherman. Lyon walked the red carpet with her friend Hammer Morgenstern.
Lyon relapsed on X in January and revealed he was no longer sober, but in March he returned with fans and announced he was “much better and on his feet.”
