Mindy Kaling showed off her toned figure in a bold look as she attended a star-studded Golden Eve event in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday night.
Kaling showed off her slimmer figure as she posed on the red carpet before the Golden Globes in a black cut-out embellished dress by Emilia Wickstead.
The 46-year-old actress looked elegant with diamond earrings and a matching ring.
The ‘Office’ alum, who has reportedly lost 40 pounds since 2020, sparked speculation that she turned to GLP-1 weight loss drugs to get in shape.
However, she explained the change in her body as eating less.
“Honestly, I just started eating less,” she said in an April 2022 interview with “Entertainment Tonight.” “I wish there was something more appealing about losing a little more weight, but that’s just the way I am.”
Kaling noted that although the world has returned to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic, “that doesn’t mean we can eat anything we want.”
Her mother’s death from pancreatic cancer in 2012 also caused her to think about her health and mortality in a new way. She also became an ambassador for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
The six-time Emmy nominee continued to talk about her health goals in a May 2022 interview with Today, admitting that she was on a mission to “look a certain way” from the age of 14.
“I used to be someone who was like, ‘If I don’t stop eating this food, I’m only going to drink juice for six weeks,'” she said, explaining that dieting only worked “30 percent of the time,” and “70 percent of the time[she]couldn’t stick to it.”
Kaling said for the first time in her life she is trying to enjoy things “in moderation.”
“I’m never going to stop being a foodie. I’m never going to be someone who can only eat spinach and salmon every day,” she said on the show.
The “Mindy Project” author reflected on how she believed working out should be tough and “something you hate.” Fortunately, Mindy said she no longer has “that association with exercise.”
A year later, the “Never Have I Ever” author says she’s finally comfortable with who she is.
“I’ve been feeling really confident in my body lately, which unfortunately hasn’t been something I’ve been able to say my whole life,” she told People magazine in May 2023, adding, “I feel great.”
The Tony Award winner credits her weight loss not only to weightlifting, but also to running and hiking nearly 32 miles a week.
“Working out can be a really private time… where people don’t need anything from you, which can be great,” she told the magazine.
That same year, Kaling shared on Instagram that her doctor told her she was “the healthiest I’ve been in years.”
