Millie Bobby Brown opened up about her baby girl for the first time in an interview with British Vogue. Millie explained why she won’t reveal her daughter’s name and that she will protect her privacy to the fullest. She also talked about adjusting to motherhood and public comments about getting married at 20.
Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi announced in August that they were starting their next chapter as parents, revealing that they had recently adopted a baby girl.
Brown commented on her parenting journey for the first time to British Vogue, speaking of both her joy at adjusting to motherhood and her determination to protect her daughter’s privacy. First of all, Brown said she won’t reveal her baby’s name “until she’s ready to decide for herself.”
The 21-year-old actress spoke more candidly about life as a mother. “It’s been a beautiful and amazing journey. She’s already taught us so much. Perspective is so big. The little things in life are so precious. Our every day is filled with so many hugs and laughter and love. It’s just a joy that never ends.”
She added that she and Bon Jovi are “50-50 on everything.” “That’s why I’m so grateful to be able to partner with him in this life. He’s just the most amazing father.”
The star declined to reveal her daughter’s personality, saying, “I have no intention of doing so. It’s very important to me to protect my daughter and her story until she’s old enough to share it herself one day. It’s not my place to intentionally or unwillingly put the spotlight on my daughter. If she chooses to one day share her personality with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we support. But she’s still young right now…” she said. He added: “As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from things like that.”
Brown also responded to comments about her and Bon Jovi getting married at ages 20 and 21, respectively.
“I realized I was young, I know that,” she said. “I really can’t say it enough. You know it when you meet the person.”
She called Bon Jovi a “beautiful angel” and said, “I’m totally different from him. I can’t find the good in anyone. I’m always like, ‘What are your intentions?'” Because I’m tired of the industry. Now I can really see…I try not to hold back too much in that world. ”
