DC Studios has released a new Super Bowl trailer for Supergirl starring Millie Alcock.
The teaser gives us a glimpse into Kara Zor-El’s life before the destruction of her home planet Krypton, her first encounter with her super-powered dog Krypto, and her battle with enemies since her appearance at the end of James Gunn’s Superman.
The film’s logline reads, “When an unexpected and ruthless enemy strikes close to home, Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely ally and embarks on an epic interstellar journey of revenge and justice.”
Supergirl seems to have a more cynical approach to life than her cousin Superman, stating, “He sees the good in everyone, and I see the truth.”
The film is based on Tom King’s comic book series Supergirl: Women of Tomorrow. In the comics, Supergirl and a young alien girl named Noll travel the galaxy to hunt down Clem of Yellow Hill, who murdered Noll’s father.
Matthias Schoenaerts will also appear as the main villain, Clem from Yellow Hills. Eve Ridley plays Lucy Mary Knoll, a girl who scouts Supergirl to bring Clem to justice for the murder of her father. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham play Supergirl’s parents. Jason Momoa plays an alien mercenary robot.
Written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie.
Supergirl is produced by DC Studios head Peter Safran and James Gunn, with Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Non-Vaux and Lars P. Windsor serving as executive producers.
“Supergirl” will be released in theaters on June 26, 2026.
