This week on “Saturday Night Live,” series alum Mike Myers made a surprise cameo, returning to NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show to once again imitate Elon Musk.
The cold open took place during “The Trumps,” an awards ceremony aimed at honoring “the best people who have served or bowed to Donald Trump’s presidency.” Trump (James Austin Johnson) invited his “close former friend” Musk on stage to receive a “Lifetime Achievement Award for Comedy, even if he didn’t always intend it.”
Musk then took to the stage and, oscillating between hyperactive and completely stoic, told the crowd, “You’re really emotionless here.”
“If anyone knows humor, it’s me,” he continued. “Humor doesn’t need a tariff!”
At the beginning of the skit, Trump told the crowd, “It’s such an honor to be here hosting The Turnps. After that woman whose name I no longer remember gave me the Nobel Prize, I thought, ‘I need more awards!'” And after what my little freaks and psychopaths at ICE are doing, I need more distractions. ”
Trump then accepted his best photo award from Vice President J.D. Vance (Jeremy Culhane), but Trump naturally insulted the vice president at every turn. Vance later returned as a nominee for Best Kiss with Kristi Noem (Ashley Padilla), both of whom were nominated for their kiss on “Trump’s Ass.” Despite running against Trump (for kissing “Putin’s ass”), Noem ultimately won, but Trump still snatched the award from her.
