Michelle Pfeiffer plans to devote more time to her growing family.
ah. what. fun. The 67-year-old star said in an interview with Fox News Digital that he feels so “blessed” to have finished his new film and to know that his daughter Claudia, 32, is expecting a baby in 2024.
“I feel very blessed with the opportunities I’ve been given and I love this work. In all three things I’ve done recently, I felt like I was working with great cast members. Great directors, great material,” Pfeiffer said.
“But little did I know that my daughter was planning a pregnancy, but the pregnancy was successful,” she added. “And lo and behold, I work here a lot.”

The actress, who also has a son, John, 31, with her husband, television writer and producer David E. Kelley, said her recent addition to her family made her want to spend more time with her loved ones.
“So I think I’ll probably take most of next year off, which I’m really looking forward to,” she admitted. “You know, to be honest, this is an embarrassment of riches. I’m like, ‘Wow.’
She further explained her decision: “I really…I really want to be selective and I’m focused on how I spend my time — whatever time I have left — in a meaningful way.”
The Ant-Man and the Wasp actress expressed similar sentiments during a previous appearance on the SmartLess podcast. While discussing her future as an actress, Pfeiffer said she “doesn’t have the time or desire to go that deep and be present for that long” for her family.
“I don’t have the time or the desire to dig that deep and not be there. I recognize that I have a finite amount of time left. And as I may announce on this show, I became a grandmother last year,” she said. “I’ve been keeping quiet about it, but it’s just heaven. It’s ridiculous.”
“If I had known I was going to be a grandma, I wouldn’t have taken on as much work, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and I’m so grateful,” she added. “I love all of these projects, and oddly enough, letting go of my anxiety about the process has freed me and in some ways I feel like I’ve become a better person.”
Pfeiffer previously took a break from Hollywood to focus on her family, returning to acting after her children were grown. She said in a 2017 interview that she “never lost my love for acting” despite their time apart, adding that she “really feels at home on a movie set.”
“Honestly, I’m more balanced when I’m working,” she continued. “But I was very particular about where I filmed, how long I was away from home, and whether it fit in with my kids’ schedules. And I ended up not getting hired because I was too picky.”

She said on the podcast The Skinny Confidential Him & Her in 2023 that it was her children that inspired her to return to screens. “They said, ‘Mom, aren’t you going back to work?'” she recalled. I said, “What do you mean?” Isn’t it great that I’m home? ”
