Melania Trump made a fashionable appearance at Tuesday night’s state dinner with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The 56-year-old first lady wore a pale pink silk strapless dress by Christian Dior Haute Couture, paired with off-white suede gloves and silk pumps.
She was all smiles as she walked alongside her husband, President Donald Trump, and members of the royal family in a classic black tuxedo.
Earlier in the day, Melania wore a white peplum Ralph Lauren skirt suit with an Eric Javits straw boater hat and white Manolo Blahnik pumps.
Melania Trump and the president welcomed Prince Charles, 77, and Camilla, 78, with a handshake as the royal couple arrived at the White House on Monday. First Lady Melania began her visit in a butter yellow skirt suit by American designer Adam Lipps.
Charles and Camilla are scheduled to visit the United States until Thursday.
The couple have visited the United States several times in the past, but this will be their first visit since their mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died in September 2022 and Prince Charles became king.
Chef Darren McGrady, who was the personal chef of the late Elizabeth, Princess Diana, and Diana’s sons Princes William and Harry, and also cooked for Presidents Ford, Reagan, Clinton and Bush, told Fox News Digital that the British royal family can expect to be served “the best of American cuisine” at state dinners.
McGrady said Charles would be most impressed by local ingredients.
“Produce like asparagus, artichokes, peas, spinach and broccoli are in season,” he said. “The King would be absolutely delighted if any of them were on the menu.”
Royal commentator Amanda Matta added that the White House would also consider dietary preferences.
“King Charles, for example, doesn’t eat foie gras, and the royal family is known to refrain from foods such as red sauce, garlic and curry for practical reasons,” Matta said. “Meals should be elegant but not too complicated and should be easy to eat while having a conversation.”
“That means no hand-held dishes, no messy dishes, nothing too experimental, or anything that might embarrass your guests,” she continued. “But the menu is ultimately the host’s decision, and the choices are very diplomatic and ad hoc.”
In September 2025, first lady Melania Trump turned heads when she visited the UK with President Trump wearing a bold yellow off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress cinched at the waist with a lilac belt.
The former model stood out in bright colors at Windsor Palace, where she dined with Duchess Kate, Prince William, Duchess Camilla and King Charles.
