Meghan Markle shared a sweet behind-the-scenes moment with husband Prince Harry after their joint appearance at the Project Healthy Minds Gala on Thursday.
In a video clip shared to Instagram Stories on Friday, the Duchess of Sussex laughed as Prince Harry appeared to be telling a joke backstage at an event.
Markle did not include any audio of the exchange. Instead, Sylvie Vartan’s “Baby, C’est Vous” played in the background as the couple laughed.
“Happy World Mental Health Day,” the “With Love, Meghan Markle” host wrote above the clip. “…to the person who always makes me laugh,” Markle, 44, concluded the upload with a red heart emoji.
The couple made a rare red carpet appearance at an event in New York City, coordinating black suits for the outing.
The mother-of-two wore a plunging Armani blazer with matching slacks and accessorized with a heavy gold chain necklace. Her husband, 41, wore a black suit and tie with a white button-down shirt.
At one point, the Duke of Sussex grabbed the “Suits” alum’s butt while showing off some PDA on the red carpet as camera flashes flashed. The two were seen holding hands, and in one photo Markle was seen looking lovingly at Harry.
The longtime mental health champions received the Humanitarian Award for their work to make the online world safer for families and young people through the Archewell Foundation.
The couple released a statement ahead of their attendance at the gala. “As parents, we too are moved by the power of their stories and are honored to support them,” they said, referring to their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
“We are proud to be a long-time partner of Project Healthy Minds. Together, we are shining a light on one of the most pressing issues of our time.”
In her speech, Markle spoke about the continuing challenges social media poses to young people’s minds. “Fortunately, they’re still too young for social media, but I know that day will come,” she said of her young children.
“And, like many parents, we’re constantly thinking about how to harness the benefits of technology while protecting against its dangers. And those hopeful separation intentions are rapidly becoming impossible.”
Markle and Prince Harry married in a lavish royal ceremony in Britain in 2018. In 2020, she gave up her duties as a senior member of the British Royal Family and moved to Montecito, California, where she is raising Archie and Lilibet.
