You need to know
Lydia Plath stands by her husband Zach Weiss.
The couple announced their engagement to the Plus family at the three-month mark of their relationship and got married after knowing each other for six months. When they encounter a negative reaction from Lydia’s brother, she tells people that she was disappointed by the lack of support.
“One of the difficult things to understand why some of my family struggle to embrace the timeline was that I embrace the facts, accept everything, and don’t know if some of them really know me and how I’m going to go about the relationship,” explains Lydia, 21.
“So Zach came and they don’t know the story that brought me here,” she continues. “So they have a question and it was hard for me to realize, ‘Oh, I don’t think they know how I’m going to date in the first place.” ”

Both Zack and Lydia say they weren’t surprised by the pushback, they’re rather reluctant to know Zack.
“I think we had this expectation that they would be protected due to the short timeline,” he says. “So I think it was a big oversight on understanding some of the reactions, but seeing some of their reactions was definitely a shock.
When Lydia emphasizes a strong “early judgment” from her brother, Zack reveals that Ethan’s questioning his sexuality is what he most abandons.
“Ethan asked if I was gay, and the suggestion was kind of shocking,” he says. “I think ‘There’s a lot of action here that proves you’re not, so that’s ironic.”
Zach says over time, Lydia’s family “really started to know me.” Still, he admits that he was “harmed” when he was previously unacceptable.
“I had a bit of sadness in the sense that, ‘Well, this time I wish I could get to know me, rather than bullying me and bullying me and choosing me,” he said. “I definitely know there is a brotherly love initiative.”
“They’re way beyond that,” Lydia chimes. Zack adds:

They’re in a better place now, but Lydia says she’s not going to see her wedding day at the welcome to Plusville after being nervous about her marriage and her frustration with the Mika brothers’ girlfriend leads to a series of incidents in which she ends in a physical altercation.
“I’m not going to watch wedding episodes because I know there’s a lot of drama going on between the four of them,” explains Lydia. “So we have a wedding video. We have 120 people who were fully supporting us.
“That morning we just woke up and said, ‘Okay, it was a journey, it was a ride, but we’re choosing to have joy,” she adds. “That’s what we chose. And from my perspective, I watched no drama, no tension, none of the whole day. I had a peaceful wedding day.”
ZAC notes: “We did both.”
