What you need to know
Megan Walerius, also known as “Sparkle” Megan, is a mom!
The reality star, 35, announced the news on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Season 9 Love Is Blind reunion, and reflected on her earlier doubts about her ability to be a stepmom to then-fiancé Jordan Keltner’s 5-year-old son, Luca.
“I actually have a little surprise for you today,” Megan began. “I’m a mother now. I gave birth to a baby boy two and a half months ago.”
She called the newborn, named Brooks, “my whole world,” adding, “I know now, more than ever, that I was meant to be a mother on this earth. He’s an amazing person and our family is so happy.”

Megan’s partner Paul was also in attendance and cheered her on from the audience. She explained that they met through a friend three months after finishing the Netflix series, and that she became pregnant three months after they started dating.
“We’ve had our ups and downs,” she admitted. “I’m not saying it was perfect, but Paul was great. We’re very happy.”
“I’m definitely learning to be more selfless,” Megan continued. “Becoming a mother is the ultimate act of selflessness. It has made me more empathetic to Jordan and being a single father. I applaud Jordan for giving his heart to experiment with this. It’s really special.”
Although all of his LIB castmates had just learned the news, Jordan revealed that he spoke to Megan before taping.
“I only reached out to Megan because some disgusting person contacted me on Instagram trying to stir things up,” he said. “She’s been very transparent and I appreciate that. I think if I had known here, I would have been uncomfortable right now. So I appreciate the transparency and honesty. You’re going to be great parents, and I have no doubt about that.”

Megan said it was “tough” keeping her pregnancy a secret, but she still managed to have fun. She also held a baby shower, but was phone-free during it.
“Right now in the spotlight, I wanted to show my pregnancy and the beginning of Brooks’ life in a private way,” she said.
Meghan’s big announcement comes after paparazzi snapped photos of her with her baby earlier this month, sparking speculation that she was a mother. And in the hours leading up to the reunion’s broadcast, she posted a cryptic message on Instagram.

In the Season 9 finale of LIB, Megan ended her relationship with Jordan, who was engaged to her in the pod, just days before their wedding was scheduled to take place.
Megan told Jordan: “I still have anxiety and don’t feel like going to a wedding.” “I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to be more considerate of you and understand and give you what you needed as a fiancée. I can’t do that.”

The former couple initially bonded over Jordan’s son having the same diabetes diagnosis as Megan’s late father. However, in a confessional, Megan revealed that dating Jordan made her “question” whether she even wanted to have children.
“I mean, maybe I’m not cut out to be a stepmom. To be honest, I question whether I’m even cut out to be a mom,” she said in the episode.

“I don’t know, maybe I’m just too caught up in my life. All I wanted to do in this experiment was to find love and find a partner,” Megan added. “I will always love Jordan, but he is not my partner.”
Jordan later claimed that he regrets introducing Megan to Luka, whom he met off-camera, but clarified during their reunion that it was nothing personal.
“I don’t regret introducing you as a person,” Jordan said. “But at his age, stability is so important. It’s not even you, I’m the one who signed up to do this and got him into the whole experiment. It has nothing to do with Megan, she’s a great person.”
The first nine seasons of Love is Blind are available to stream on Netflix.
