Lily Allen made a stunning entrance at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on Monday night, wearing a bold lingerie-inspired ensemble.
The 40-year-old British singer arrived at the American Museum of Natural History wearing an all-ivory look from up-and-coming designer Colleen Allen’s Spring 2026 collection.
The barely-there outfit consisted of a bralette trimmed with delicate lace, a silk maxi skirt with a sheer back panel, and a matching opera coat that draped off the shoulders.
Fans rushed to social media to react to Allen’s bold appearance, with one commenting: “Best revenge ever…Kill me 🙌🏼.”
Allen wore her signature blunt bangs in an elegant updo created by hairstylist Bob Lecine and finished the look with a set of gold earrings.
Allen’s appearance came on the heels of the release of her controversial fifth studio album, West End Girl. The album details the breakdown of her marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour. The couple, who wed in Las Vegas in September 2020, confirmed their separation in February.
One fan quipped in the comments: “If David Harbor can’t sleep, it’s a win.”
The 14-track album, written in just 10 days last December, received critical acclaim and five-star reviews for its raw honesty about betrayal and heartbreak.
“Free from my husband, free from my clothes, just free…😂😂😂,” one Instagram user joked, while another cheered: “Yay! Love this real time karma 🍿.”
But not everyone agreed with Allen’s risqué fashion choices. “Can we just make it normal to wear clothes again?” one critic commented.
Allen’s revealing moment also comes after a candid interview with Perfect magazine, in which she opened up about her recent weight struggles and breast implants.
“Over the past year or so, when I was at my lowest, I really, really lost weight. More than that, actually,” she told the magazine. “And I knew I had to gain weight. And I’ve always been lower body heavy, so there was a fear that if I gained weight, my body would feel disproportionate.”
She continued, “So I thought, why not give myself an exit clause? What if I make myself feel more attractive?”
Allen also spoke to the magazine about his newfound acceptance of his body, saying, “I feel more comfortable in my body than I’ve ever felt in my entire adult life. I train five times a week. I’m proud of the effort and energy I put into my health.”
The star-studded CFDA ceremony, hosted by Teyana Taylor, honored some of the biggest names in American fashion, including A$AP Rocky, who won the Fashion Icon Award, and Ralph Lauren, who won the American Women’s Wear Designer of the Year award.
Colleen Allen, who designed the singer’s stunning looks, was nominated for Google Shopping’s American Emerging Designer of the Year award, but lost out to Ashlyn Park. Still, her design for Allen was one of the most talked about moments of the night.
