Lily Allen doesn’t think she wants to date another celebrity after her messy breakup with David Harbour.
The singer, whose new single “Smile,” opened up about the challenges of dating in a candid conversation with Interview Magazine published Tuesday.
When asked if there were any downsides to using dating apps as someone in the public eye, Allen said, “There is. It’s not like I’m looking to date another celebrity.”
The 40-year-old British singer explained: “There’s a bit of a barrier when it comes to dating other people.”
In fact, she said, “In England, it’s a bit unusual to date a girlfriend.”
Allen noted that she has struggled with dating apps despite having several successful dates on Raya, calling them “terrible.”
“Especially when you’re heartbroken,” she said of her breakup with the Stranger Things actor.
“There’s nothing more depressing than knowing there are hundreds of people who don’t look like the person you’re missing,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘No, that’s not him. That’s not him. That’s not him.'”
Allen also experienced a slight hiccup when he was blocked by Hinge while exploring the world of virtual dating.
“Did I mention you got kicked out of Hinge for impersonating me?” she said. “I’m like, ‘I can prove that I am that person.’ I’m like, ‘Please send me your ID.’ And they’re like, “Actually, my name and the name on my ID are not the same.” ”
Although he declined to reveal the name he uses on the app, Allen confirmed that he is “not dating” at this time.
“But there are some people I meet,” she revealed.
Allen and Harbor tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2020 after dating for nearly a year. However, their relationship came to an abrupt halt in February when news of their separation broke.
The “Fk You” artist, who filed for divorce last month, was admitted to a treatment center for “emotional confusion” as he struggled with the breakup.
The pop star then hinted on her new album, West End Girl, which debuted on October 24, that Harbor, 50, had been cheating on her.
In the song “Dallas Major,” she sings about a relationship that became “open” when her partner “went astray” and the anonymous partner was living a “double life” at P-sy Palace.
Rumors abounded this week that Harbor was having an affair with costume designer Natalie Tippett.
Mr. Haber has yet to address the cheating allegations, awkwardly dodging questions about his estranged wife in April.
