Lala Kent and Shayna Shay’s friendship will likely never be the same.
In a recent interview with Page Six, Kent was eager to talk about his return to reality TV, life with his two kids, and rebranding his podcast, but he declined to talk about his former best friend.
“I think I’ve said everything there is to say about that situation,” Kent, 35, told Us when discussing the “elephant in the room.”
When asked if she thought there was any progress between her and her former “Vanderpump Rules” co-stars, she again denied it.
“I’m not even going to argue with her at all,” she said grimly.
Kent and Shay, who also hosts her own podcast, have been photographing each other in public in recent months.
Kent said Shay was angry that the former didn’t promote the latter’s memoir the way he wanted.
But the crux of the issue, according to Shea, is that after confiding in Kent about her husband’s past infidelity, the “Give Them Lala” author allegedly repeated the same thing to someone else around her.
It’s the type of aftermath Bravo’s cameras would capture, but only one “Vanderpump Rules” alum joined the show’s spinoff series, “The Valley,” ahead of Season 3.
Perhaps their 4-year-old daughters, who are best friends, can help facilitate a reconciliation off-camera.
Although Kent is confident on the surface, he is admittedly “nervous” about what fans will think when he appears on “The Valley,” given the feedback he received after the last “Vanderpump Rules” reunion, which aired in 2024.
“It feels weird coming back. It feels like I’ve never done it before. People say certain things are like riding a bike, and I’m like, ‘This feels so weird.’ I’m very anxious about it,” she confessed.
Kent sensed a “change” among the audience after passionately singing “Scandoval,” which led to a falling out with fan favorite Ariana Madix.
“I used to take pride in not caring about those things and being able to differentiate between reality and reality, and that was the first time that it was really difficult to do that,” she lamented.
“So, being on this show, I’m who I am. And for some reason, I can’t change certain things for the life of me. I start having out-of-body experiences again and I’m like, ‘Shut up, la, shut up!’ And then I walked away and I was overthinking it and I was like, “Oh, this is hard.” I think about what people think of me. ”
Kent, who co-parents daughter Ocean with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett, welcomed baby girl Sosa, 1, with the help of a sperm donor during her break from reality TV.
She’s not yet ready to have a third child, but she’s pretty sure she’ll use the same sperm donor again because “he has so much wealth.”
Kent’s unconventional return to motherhood has led her to reevaluate the name of her podcast, Give Them Lala, which represents a different era for her.
“I just didn’t feel like ‘Give Them Lala’ was ringing true to me anymore. I felt like I was still stuck in a time that no longer existed,” Kent explained of his decision to choose ‘Untraditionally Lala’.
Looking back on her current life, Kent said, “Tradition continues to influence me,” which made her realize “how normal (her) non-traditional life is.”
