Last night, Kim Kardashian took to TikTok to explain some of the outfits she wears in the first episode of Hulu’s new series “All’s Fair.” Her ultra-stylish character, Alura Grant, is part of the show’s talented group of female divorce lawyers.
Kim Kardashian said, “I think fashion (in ‘All’s Fair’) is its own personality.”
Although reviews for Ryan Murphy’s show weren’t great, creative director and fashion stylist Soki Mack’s wardrobe department came up with some looks that caught the audience’s attention.
The first scene of the show is a flashback to ten years ago. In it, Kardashian’s character wears a double-breasted suit by Jean Paul Gaultier. In fact, this suit is from Kardashian’s personal wardrobe.
Gaultier’s designs receive significant airtime throughout the series. Kardashian also wore a head-to-toe JPG look a few scenes later, which she revealed on TikTok was vintage haute couture.
This dress is from the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2004 collection and is layered with a Fall 2008 coat.
“This dress is not snake print,” she shared, adding, “It actually has scales and leather sewn in very specific places to make it look and feel like that.”
She also wears an eye-catching red alligator trench coat with a Swarovski crystal waist detail from the designer’s fall 2008 collection.
Another important insider tidbit: According to Kardashian, Hermès actually partnered with the show and provided several Birkins for the characters to carry around. In a self-effacing comment, the star explained: “This is the Hermès Birkin that we partnered with…”
Whether in a partnership or not, Kardashian is a well-known Birkin lover. She carries several bags from her own personal collection at the show.
The white dress that Kardashian wears to her character’s anniversary dinner on the show was custom-made by Roberto Cavalli. In the video, she revealed that the designer’s label reads “Roberto Cavalli for Kim Kardashian.” Initially shown in a short version on the summer 2006 runways, the design house extended the look of the “All’s Fair” character.
Kardashian and Grant share the same taste when it comes to wardrobe, which of course is helped by the inclusion of Kardashian’s personal wardrobe archive. But she admits she’s had to put her personal preferences aside at times.
“These Cartier[sunglasses]…I had a little bit of a fight with Sorki because I personally don’t feel like they fit me,” Kardashian admitted, adding, “But this is Allura, so I fell into it.”
Near the end of the video, she talks about Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring 1997 pinstriped skirt suit, which she posted on Instagram a few days ago and went viral.
“It was really crazy to shoot,” she said in a skimpy thong, adding, “I would say this is one of my favorites.”
After 3 minutes and 13 seconds, it’s safe to say that Kardashian has us hooked and waiting to watch episode 2 of her fascinating behind-the-scenes details on “All’s Fair Fashion Files.”
