Keith Urban was not supporting Nicole Kidman because he promoted last year’s sexually explicit film Babygirl.
Kidman filed for divorce earlier this week, but Urban had already removed his wedding ring when he performed on the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday night.
In 2024, the country crooner failed to join his wife at the Venice Film Festival when he debuted his film in August and opened at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
In the film, Kidman, 58, is a powerful CEO who is unhappy with her sex life with her husband, played by Antonio Banderas (Antonio Banderas), while building a relationship with a handsome intern played by 29-year-old Harris Dickinson.
“Keith didn’t like movies, and he didn’t like Nicole promoting them,” said a Hollywood insider.
Another source claimed that the 57-year-old city was afraid he would be oc-laughed because of the film’s subject matter.
In fact, on July 1st, the singer appeared to have finished an interview with Australia’s Mix 102.3 “Hayley & Max in the Morning.”
“What do you think of Keith Urban when he sees a beautiful young man like Zac Efron and his beautiful wife having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?” host Max Burford asked. “I think his team hung up because they didn’t want to ask us that question,” the producer added. “He’s gone, Keith, I’ll see you again.”
His co-host Haley Pearson said he believes they are “upset” because he “don’t like personal things.”
However, sources later told people that Urban had not left the phone.
Urban doesn’t think there was a problem with his wife’s project the other day.
Kidman actually created a career in playing a woman who challenges norms in films such as 1999’s Eyes Wide Shut, and in films such as Tom Cruise, her first husband.
And she sheds light on the problems women face – from domestic violence in “Big Little Lies” to sexual frustration in “babygirl.”
In 2017, Kidman vowed to work with a female director every 18 months.
Over the past eight years, the Oscar winner has worked with female directors 19 times as producers or actors. “Babygirl” was directed by Harina Reina.
Kidman already has several more women’s projects in the pipeline.
She has just shot the film “The Netherlands,” directed by Mimi Cave, and her recent television productions include Lulu Wang’s “Expats” on Amazon Prime Video and Suzanne Beer’s “Perfect Couple” on Netflix.
As we have revealed, Kidman was always there for Urban.
He has not commented so far on romantically linking to 25-year-old guitarist Maggie Beau, who was not on stage with him on Thursday. However, he showed the photos on screen of two daughters, Kidman, Rose on Sunday, 17 and Faith Margaret (14).
