What bad blood?
Kayla Nicole has denied “putting other women down” with her Halloween costume, but fans are convinced this was an attack on Taylor Swift.
Travis Kelsey’s ex-girlfriend claimed on Saturday’s episode of the podcast “Pregame” that she just wanted to “celebrate” her vacation last month by wearing an outfit from Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video.
“Halloween is an opportunity for me to not be myself and dress up as someone I respect, someone I’ve been a fan of, someone I think is Chef’s Kiss,” Nicole, 34, told listeners.
“You guys don’t want celebrities to dress up as…celebrities, but I’m confused because what should I do?” she asked. “Doctor? Superwoman?”

Nicole hit back at those who were “trying to project their own narrative” with the outfit, saying: “I’m not in the business of diminishing other women. I’m in the business of celebrating them.”
She added: “Every year I try to raise the bar. Every year I try to raise the bar. I try to be Heidi Klum on Halloween, performance-wise.”
Nicole advised fans to watch Braxton’s music video. Because people “may be surprised by the ending.” The Grammy Award winner and her character’s cheating ex-husband’s new wife team up to expose Braxton.
“Clock it,” she said. “Watch your watch, baby.”
Nicole first talked about the motivation behind her outfit in a previous installment of the podcast.
She claimed that the ensemble was inspired not by the pop star, but by someone named Taylor, who is Nicole’s childhood best friend.
“I specifically remember riding home in the back of a rice wagon with Taylor from private school in uniform, and her mother was playing this song,” she said on the Oct. 31 episode of “Pregame.”
Nicole deactivated her X account after the problematic post resurfaced, but she has yet to comment on it.
Before dating Kelsey on and off from 2017 to 2022, she dissed another A-list singer for wearing a questionable Halloween costume.
Nicole admitted last year that she once dressed up as Teyana Taylor, the then-wife of Nicole’s ex Iman Shumpert, wearing a cropped gray tank top, thong and knee pads.
“I was dating a guy, and he dumped me via text message… to this singer and actress who was famous at the time,” she explained on Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel. This was a clue for her fans to quickly identify Taylor.
In an October 2024 interview, Nicole called her subsequent Halloween costume the “craziest” thing she’d ever done.
Taylor, 34, slammed the diss following Nicole’s “sick and petty” revelations, writing in a now-deleted Instagram comment: “Her choice of words was extremely offensive and she shouldn’t have said it. She knew exactly what she was doing.”
