Katy Perry has denied Ruby Rose’s accusation that she sexually assaulted him 20 years ago.
The Orange Is the New Black actress, 40, claimed in a series of posts on Sunday’s thread that the alleged incident happened at a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia, when she was in her 20s.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market Nightclub in Melbourne. Who knows what she would think,” Rose wrote in response to a Complex Music post about Perry, 41, reacting to Justin Bieber’s Coachella 2026 performance.
In a message on the next thread, Rose said it took her “almost 20 years” to make the accusations public.
“I’m so grateful that I took the time to find my voice, but this shows how impactful trauma and sexual assault can be. Thank you for meeting me,” she said.
Perry’s rep denied Rose’s claims in a statement to Page Six.
“The claims Ruby Rose has spread on social media about Katy Perry are not only completely false, they are dangerous and reckless lies,” her representative said.
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious allegations on social media against various individuals, allegations that have been repeatedly denied by those named,” the statement continued.
Representatives for Mr. Rose did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Mr. Perry’s denial.
In the thread, Rose provided further details about the alleged incident.
“She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her, bent over, pulled my underwear to the side, and rubbed her disgusting vagina in my face. My eyes snapped open and I spat projectiles at her,” she claimed of Perry.
“After I threw up on her, I told the story publicly, but I didn’t know how else to deal with it, so I turned it into a ‘drunk and funny story.’ She then agreed to help me get a US visa, so I kept it a secret. But I told her she wasn’t a nice person,” Rose said.
The Batwoman actress thanked her followers for their support when a fan told Rose that they “believed” her story about an “incredibly raw and traumatic event.”
In another post, Rose wrote that she was going to “go to the police station to see if they can investigate my experience.”
“I think they’re past the statute of limitations, so there’s a reason to give it a shot,” she says. “It’s a long list, and it’s probably going to be more exhausting than I’m prepared for. But when I’m ready, I’ll be back here to update others on the process.”
Hours later, Rose wrote, “I did it.”
