Oscar-nominated “Emilia Perez” star Cara Sofia Gascon has been controversing earlier this year over her offensive tweets from the past, filming the Italian comedy “School of Seduction” in Rome. The famous film, directed by Italian comic actor and director Carlo Veddon, will only be dropped on Paramount+ next year.
Verdone, whose film is a systematic hit at the Italian box office, stars in “Love Coach” with Gascon and Italian A-Lister Vittoria Puccini (“Madly”) and Lino Guanciale (“The Count of The Monte Cristo”) about “Love Coach” who helps people navigate the complexities of romance in the digital age.
“In an age where falling in love, cheating, making up, and breakup can all happen, even through artificial intelligence, six characters (bound to anxiety and emotional vulnerability) turn to their love coaches to help them interpret and guide their lives,” reads the outline provided. “Some people are looking for love, some are trying to save it, others can’t stop questioning the past.”
Details of the role of Gascon in “School of Temptation” are maintained in the wrapping.

“School of Seduction” is produced by Aurelio and Luigi de Laurentiis. Verdone’s popular television series “Vita Da Carlo” (“Life As Carlo”) stars himself as a fictional version of a local comic icon, and will also be aired on Paramount+.
“After dedicating five years of television series, going back to filming a film is like making a debut again,” Verdone said in a statement. “You’re full of expectations and excitement for a new start. Whether your vision will be translated, whether your actors will find guidance in your direction, if your focus will set the tone of the crew.”
“But I can’t help but feel that I’ve been unbridled because I have gathered a cast of such talented, serious and reliable actors, including Karla Sofía Gascón,” he added. “It’s a chance to prove to myself and my audience. I still have something to say and I’m working harder than ever.”
Gascon commented: “I’m so happy to be in Carlo’s films and work in Italy. I’ve been in Rome for a few days and have had a really great experience with new roles for me.”
“Emilia Perez” Gascon’s awards season campaign collapsed in January when it fired in a social media post previously known as Twitter. This scandal came when Jack’s Audido drug cartel musical was the forefront of Best Picture, earning top 13 nominations and eventually bringing home two statues. Gascon, nominated for Best Actress alongside Demi Moore and winner Mikey Madison, apologized for her tweet and attended the awards ceremony, but she didn’t walk the red carpet. Despite the media fire, Netflix CO-CEO Ted Sarandos said in a variety cover story that the company will be open to working with the actress again.
Most recently, Gathorne attended the Venice Film Festival last month, receiving the Italian Honor Award, presented by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage with the Cineo Cultural Association.
“School of Seduction” is not Gascon’s first film, following the controversy of the awards season. She will appear in several other projects at various stages, the most advanced of which is Trinidad, the English western set in the 19th century, directed by Spanish Laura Albea and Jose Ortunho. Gabriella Andrada also stars in “Trinidad,” featuring Pasvega, and is reportedly playing the villain known as Widow Bronson.
