Jordyn Woods, the fiancée of New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, wasn’t happy about the team’s owner jokingly imposing a sex ban ahead of the NBA playoffs.
The NBA center has opened up about how James Dolan’s recommendation to his team to take a 10-week sexual hiatus in March affected him as a “happily engaged man.”
“When I got home and said those words to my fiancée, I can honestly say that she didn’t want to hear them,” he said on “The Howard Stern Show” on Tuesday.
Towns, 30, admitted she didn’t take Dolan’s advice, adding: “I think she’s very happy.”
Dolan’s lengthy speech about the Knicks went viral after Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart shared it on Monday’s “Roommates” podcast.
“I thought maybe I should just not have sex for the next 10 weeks,” the businessman told his team.
“You don’t have to give up sex for the next 10 weeks. But like the Spartans, you know what the Spartans are? They denied themselves in order to get an edge. Get the edge.”
“Go home and talk to your wives,” Dolan said. “Don’t tell me you’re not going to have sex, and don’t tell me that was my idea.”
“But let them know what this is going to be like, what your commitment is going to be, and what sacrifices they’re going to have to make too.”
Additionally, Dolan has promised to pay for championship rings for the wives and partners of every Knicks player.
Meanwhile, Woods was on the front lines supporting his fiancée during the Knicks’ NBA Finals victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
The 28-year-old media personality also cheekily shared a photo of a Fleur de Mal blue and orange lingerie set personalized with Townes’ jersey number.
After five years of dating, the two got engaged in December 2025 at the top level of Overstory in New York City.
On Stern’s podcast, Towns called Woods “special” and said, “There’s a reason I’m marrying her.”
The player explained that he and Woods had been friends for two years before they started dating, and that he supported Woods when his mother passed away due to complications from the coronavirus infection in 2021.
“I had to put a ring on it,” he said. “I couldn’t let her go anywhere else.”
