Neither Hailey nor Justin have commented on the tattoo yet, but Hailey expressed her pride in her husband on Instagram during the awards ceremony. “This is my baby,” she captioned her Instagram Story.
In ELLE’s 2020 cover story, Hailey opened up about how the two started dating again in 2018. Their whirlwind romance that began in June led to their marriage in September of the same year. They have been married for seven years now and have a one-year-old son, Jack.
“There was a time when it seemed like our lives were going in completely different directions,” she began, reflecting on the period since they first broke up. “In fact, looking back now that we’re married, I think it was a very healthy and good thing for both of us.”
After several years of not speaking, the two reunited and “we ended up attending this church conference together in Miami[in June 2018]. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other,” Haley said. “I remember when we were hanging out together, I was like, ‘Listen, I’m really, really happy to be friends again. We’ve always wanted to be cool and be friends.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, the thing is, we’re not meant to be friends.’ And I thought, “Oh.” is that so? I think we were both a little nervous about what was going on at first. It was familiar territory, but after a long time it’s like getting to know someone new. ”
She was impressed with Justin’s changes, saying, “He’s grown so much.” “I was actually shocked. I think I’ve grown so much, too. He’s someone I’ve always cherished so much and loved so deeply. Of course, it took effort and effort to work through the issues between the two of us, but it was all so worth it. He’s an incredible person and a great partner to walk through life with. There’s no one else I’d rather spend my life with than him. So, I’m lucky.”
